Stu
Stu imageStu at Rhythmweb (Eric Stuer) brings over 40 years of drumming experience to his presentations for kids. “Drums around the World with Stu,” offers an overview of many different percussion instruments from the musical traditions of Ghana, Kenya, Guinea, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Peru, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Mexico, Brazil, the U.S. and other places. The emphasis is on drumming as a universal language, and there is information on the universal principles by which a percussionist coaxes various sounds out of an instrument. There are also plentiful demonstrations, questions and answers, and audience participation at various times during the show. The finale is a mass playing session with the Boomwhackers tubes. Program is recommended for ages 5 and over.
Length of program (45 minutes to 1 hour)
